Description: Petros, who has lost his mother, is a talented designer and is in love with a rich girl, Niki, who has lost her father. The difference in their social standing is obvious, but this doesn’t stop Niki from telling her mother, Alexandra, about them and obtaining her consent to get married. However, Alexandra changes her mind when she meets Petros’ father, Anestis, who dies from a heart attack the moment he sees her. She realizes that Niki and Petros are the siblings that she and Anestis had found during the Occupation next to their dead parents, and whom they decided to split up, so that each of them could take one sibling to raise as their own child. Alexandra tries, in vain, to marry Niki off to Telis, the foolish son of a Balkan War hero, General Kontoleon. Petros’ brother (also Niki’s biological brother) returns to Greece and testifies that the two young people are not, in fact, related. Therefore, there is no obstacle to their getting married.
